Affordability Scale:

The scale represents how many years of your entire household income it would take to buy a house in that area (assuming you saved every single dollar without spending on food, rent, or living expenses).

  • Most affordable areas: 2-4 years of total income
  • Moderately affordable: 4-6 years of total income
  • Expensive areas: 6-10 years of total income
  • Very expensive areas: 10+ years of total income

This platform covers 361 Statistical Areas Level 2 (SA2) across Greater Melbourne. Property price data is available for approximately 218 areas for houses and 198 areas for units, with regular updates to ensure current market conditions.
